After you cover your cake with fondant, color the remaining fondant and roll it to about 1/8" - 1/4" thickness. Cut it into narrow strips and roll it up on it's side to form designs. Allow the designs to harden before attaching them to your cake with a dab of water on a food paintbrush.

Quilling with Fondant
This is a simple and straight-forward way to use fondant. I loved making this cake with my girls, and I am looking forward to using this technique again sometime.
After you cover your cake with fondant, color the remaining fondant and roll it to about 1/8" - 1/4" thickness. Cut it into narrow strips and roll it up on it's side to form designs. Allow the designs to harden before attaching them to your cake with a dab of water on a food paintbrush.
